Immerse yourself in rhythm and connect with neighbours and locals in this interactive workshop exploring drumming as a tool for protest and community action. All instruments are provided. Led by Rebecca Gangnus, a leader in Wexford’s community samba band, Bloco Garman.Rebecca's drumming journey began 17 years ago after taking part in the community project that led to the formation of Bloco Garman, Wexford’s community samba band. Over the years she has learned from a variety of Afro-Brazilian tutors from Ireland to Brazil and is one half of their leadership team since 2011. She's had epic adventures bringing the group to various festivals from Electric Picnic to the President's garden party. Rebecca has been a collaborator and performer on a number of projects including the Wexford alt-punk band Cursed Murphy versus the Resistance since 2018.
