March 26 is a special one. We are celebrating the birthday of Son House, the man whose voice and slide guitar helped lay the foundation of blues music.The theme is Delta and Country Blues. The raw stuff. The real stuff. Open tunings, slide guitar, deep grooves.
I’m honored to welcome:
Fred Vine, one of Rochester’s most dedicated students and stewards of early blues
Mathis & Benoît, international touring artists from France bringing authentic Delta blues across the Atlantic
We’ll keep it rooted and acoustic for the main sets. Then at the end of the night, we’re throwing it open for a jam with the guests and The Revelators… because a little distortion never hurt anyone.
Music starts at 6pm in the Backroom Lounge at Record Archive. Beer, wine, pizza, and a room full of people who love where this music comes from.
