This is a special year for Fred Harvey aficionados, celebrating 150 years of Fred Harvey, 100 years of Indian Detours, 100 years of Route 66, and 80 years of “The Harvey Girls” movie.The Fred Harvey Company gifted its extraordinary collection to the Heard Museum in 1978. This donation of more than 4,000 works — including stunning textiles, jewelry, basketry, katsina dolls, ceramics, and beadwork — affirmed the Heard Museum as one of the nation’s leading institutions for Native art.
