Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Frankly Martini is an electrifying 7-piece jazz fusion combo made up of Berkeley students who wanted to do a little more with their time than study for their college degrees. Under the tutelage of famed Bay Area pianist Frank Martin (the group's namesake), the electro-acoustic soundscape of this group's compositions and arrangements draw inspiration from the likes of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Lyle Mays, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, and Frank Martin himself. They have been featured in numerous performances and events in the East Bay, including at venues like the Freight & Salvage and Hertz Hall. Their debut album, "Wakey Wakey," composed of five eclectic originals by Sam, Ryan, and Chris, is out now on all streaming platforms.
