Willow workshops at Haddenham Arts Centre near Ely, CambridgeshireYou will learn a combination of traditional and contemporary weaving techniques to make a frame basket, using two or three colours of willow.
This whole day workshop is led by Cambridgeshire sculptor and weaver Jane Frost, who will provide you with skills to make unique frame baskets, for foraging or display for your home or as gifts.
November 15th 10a.m. - 3.30p.m.
£90 per person.
Maximum 6 places to enable a really good learning experience. All tools and materials are supplied. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and returning students to refine and develop more skills.
Workshops led by sculptor and weaver Jane Frost will provide you with a range of techniques to make baskets and sculpture. Jane will take you through all the techniques necessary to make your piece and everyone will go home with a finished sculpture or basket they can be proud of.
Jane has experience teaching all age groups with a variety of needs. This workshop is suitable for everyone over the age of 13, children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.
Additional things you might like to bring; Notebook, pens or pencil, Garden Wire, Scissors and String, Sharp Knife – Stanley or Craft, Gardening gloves.
You can pre-book a special workshop lunch offer on arrival. Select from the menu, fresh produce is made on-site every day.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
You will need to have a reasonable amount of strength in your hands to be able to work with the willow. Please wear older clothes, such as you would wear for gardening, sandals are not advisable.
Willow needs to be prepared at least a week in advance for each workshop. Therefore if workshops are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, bookings will be transferred to alternative dates. No refunds will be given.
