Four Mile Run Kayak Launch Grand Opening

Celebrate the grand opening of the new kayak launch at Four Mile Run Park. The launch becomes part of the City of Alexandria’s 49-acre Four Mile Run Park, and it is the first of its kind in the DC metro area, featuring a raised boardwalk ramp and gangway with ADA-compliant slopes, a wheelchair transfer platform, and a roller water entry/exit ramp, providing increased safety while launching and landing, particularly helpful for unassisted or novice paddlers.

Remarks will be at 12:30 p.m. and the event will include music, an art project with the Mobile Art Lab, and other activities.

There is a limited number of spaces for people to bring their own kayaks and use the new launch. If you would like to bring your kayak, please select that ticket option.
