OPEN TO THE PUBLIC - Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11AMPlease join the American Legion Family and other veteran organizations in honoring the legend of the FOUR CHAPLAINS' selfless duty and bravery in the face of certain death with the sinking of the USAT Dorchester in 1943.
Once all life vests were distributed, the four chaplains removed their own vests and handed them to frightened young sailors. As the ship went down, survivors in nearby rafts could see the four chaplains--arms linked and braced against the slanting deck. Their voices could also be heard offering prayers.
Join the American Legion Post 105 Family, other American Legion families (local and from afar), additional veteran organizations, and the general public. Light refreshments provided.
