The Founder Funding Groups programme returns to Liverpool Pitch Practice session of 2026 on Wednesday 29 April, 12:00–14:30.

This session is designed for founders who are planning to raise investment—whether you’re actively fundraising or preparing for your next round. It’s a focused opportunity to test and refine your pitch in a supportive, practical environment before stepping into real investor meetings.

Whether you're currently raising funds or preparing for your next round, this is a chance to sharpen your message, build confidence, and receive honest feedback from experienced mentors.

Meet the Organiser: AXM Venture Capital

AXM Venture Capital is an FCA-authorised investment firm established in 2005, with a strong track record of supporting early-stage and growth businesses. The team has collectively invested in over 100 SMEs, managing multiple regional funds focused on driving innovation and economic growth.

Through the Liverpool City Region Seed Fund (LCRSF), AXM continues its mission to support promising ventures across the region. To date, the fund has invested over £X million into Y high-potential early-stage companies, providing not only capital but also hands-on guidance to help founders scale their businesses successfully.

LCRSF builds on the success of the North West Fund for Digital & Creative, through which AXM has invested £17.1 million into 44 companies across the region, including 19 based in the Liverpool City Region. With deep experience and a hands-on approach, AXM works closely with founders to help scale businesses and unlock long-term value.

The session will be faciliated by Rupert Wingate-Saul.
Rupert is an Investment Director for the Liverpool City Region Seed Fund, backed by the LCR Combined Authority, which launched in June 2025 and leads portfolio management for the North West Fund for Digital and Creative. In addition, Rupert runs Founder Funding Group roundtable and pitch practice sessions, creating supportive environments where founders can refine their pitch, receive practical feedback, and build confidence ahead of investor meetings.

Rupert joined AXM Venture Capital in 2012 and has led over 20 investments, supported portfolio companies to raise more than £65 million in co-investment and delivered several successful exits. Working closely with founders, Rupert supports their growth through follow-on funding rounds and scale-up stages, helping to develop their exit strategies.
