About this Event
Founder Funding Group Liverpool is back in March with a session for founders of University spin-out and deeptech/IP-rich businesses based in and around LCR. The session is designed for founders who are either actively fund raising, or who are planning to launch a funding round within the next six months. Founder Funding Group Liverpool is kindly supported by British Business Bank.
The sessions will be facilitated by Rupert Wingate-Saul from FWS Advisory and will be joined by two experienced mentors who have successfully raised investment.
About the session
Raising investment can be a long, time-consuming and opaque process, often full of confusing jargon and people. The sessions will give you the opportunity to:
- Practise your pitch and hone your messaging before speaking to investors (selected founder);
- Gain insights into the investment process including how many investors to contact, where to find them and how discussions may develop;
- Hear from an investor who will join part of the session to talk about life on the other side of the table; and
- Learn from other founders and mentors who are going on, or have completed, the same journey.
This all takes place in a supportive, honest and confidential environment, making you better prepared to engage with investors and helping you to close your round as efficiently as possible.
The criteria to attend the event is:
• Be part of the founding team of a University of Liverpool spin-out (the spin-out does not need to have been incorporated) or be a regional startup that is deeptech/IP-rich
• Be actively involved in the company’s fundraising process
• Be actively raising £250,000 - £5m as either grant, debt or equity, or be planning to raise starting within the next 6 months

There will be a lunchtime buffet from 12 noon. The main session will run from 12:30pm - 3:30pm
