This course invites you to explore the Buddha’s teachings in greater depth through a gentle and structured approach. Each session is paced to allow for careful reflection, offering clear explanations so that the Dharma can be understood and applied meaningfully in daily life.
Whether you are new to Buddhism or seeking to deepen your understanding, this programme provides practical guidance on integrating core teachings into everyday situations. In this term, participants will be introduced to Abhidharma — often regarded as one of the most profound areas of Buddhist teaching, yet also one of the least accessible.
Rather than approaching it as abstract philosophy, this course presents Abhidharma in a clear and accessible manner, exploring why these teachings were developed and how they support learning, reflection, and practice.
Across the four sessions, participants will encounter key Abhidharma traditions such as Vibhajyavāda and Sarvāstivāda, along with ideas drawn from the Madhupiṇḍika Sutta, Dharma Theory, and the Theory of Moments. The course will also highlight how these insights shaped later Buddhist thought, including developments within the Mahāyāna tradition.
To support a meaningful and interactive learning environment, each intake is intentionally kept small. This allows for sincere sharing, thoughtful reflection, and more personalised guidance throughout the course.
