Foundations of Commercial RE Investing (6CE)

Class Time: 9:30AM to 4:30PM
Beyond providing shelter and security, real estate can be an excellent investment opportunity. Students will learn how to:
- Compare real estate with other popular investment types (gold, stocks, bonds, artwork, etc.).
- Calculate and explain the various cash flows peculiar to income real estate.
- Valuate various income and business properties, using all three "approaches to value" used by appraisers and lenders.
- Determine different investor rates of return - from traditional cap rates and cash flow to more sophistical discounted cash flow analyses.
- Prepare a multi-year proforma on commercial or investment property listings.
