About the Event
The Future of Computer Science Education Forum brings together educators, researchers and industry professionals to address one of the most urgent challenges in education today:
How should we reform computer science and software engineering curriculum, in the current context of reform of digital technology in the school curriculum, and in the age of AI?
Hosted by the Centre for Education and Society within the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast and CDIT, this forum focuses on curriculum transformation across:
- Early Years and Primary Education
- Secondary Education
- Further Education (FE)
- Higher Education (HE)
With the rapid rise of AI and agentic software systems, the skills required by industry are evolving fast, and education must evolve with them.
The day will include a mixture of expert talks and structured discussions, designed to encourage reflection, dialogue and practical thinking about curriculum reform.
This forum is open to anyone with an interest in computing education, including:
- University and college lecturers and academic staff
- School teachers (primary and secondary)
- Industry professionals in computing and software engineering
- Students interested in the future of computing education
No prior specialist knowledge is required, just an interest in the future of the discipline.
