Fort Point Waterfront Community Design Workshop: Final Design Presentations

Help to shape the future of the Fort Point Waterfront! People who live in, work in, and visit the Fort Point neighborhood will join forces with architects, landscape architects, and other designers to develop proposals for future waterfront designs along the Fort Point Channel. Teams of community members and designers will develop solutions for specific sites as well as ideas that may be applicable to waterfront areas throughout the neighborhood. The conceptual proposals will address the climate adaptation needs of the district and generate ideas for making the area more welcoming and inclusive. The process will give participants an opportunity to share their aspirations for the public waterfront in the future with ideas for specific sites and principles for defining what they want from future development.

For this Saturday morning concluding event, Boston Harbor Now (in partnership with the Fort Point Neighborhood Association, the Boston Society for Architecture, the Boston Society of Landscape Architects, the Stone Living Lab, and the Boston Planning and Development Agency) will be convening a conversation about the preferred design elements of future plans. The teams formed at the October 19th kick off will present their conceptual strategies for addressing inclusion and equity, increased accessibility, and coastal climate threats through the design and programming of open spaces and buildings.

A set of presentations by community members and designers will be followed by a community conversation about the elements of the design that should be included in future projects.
