Forró For All - A Dance Workshop & Brazilian Festa on Sunday 15.02.2026 at 14-18 in Liiketila, JoensuuIt is Valentine's weekend! What could be more matching? Forró is a Brazilian popular dance shared with another person in a close embrace, like a hug. It is a celebration of togetherness, love, caring and acceptance, a human connection embedded in the culture. Forró is known for very sweet and uplifting energy, catchy rhythms and sweaty, boisterous parties with warm, welcoming and fast growing dancing communities all around the world. Let's celebrate together with best friends, sweethearts and make new ones!

This workshop is your quick start for a social dance floor – the key for having fun and enjoy the best of Brazilian culture! In this workshop we will explore some of the key elements that influence your dance the most:
- Corporeality (you as a moving body)
- Dynamicity (your moving body in space)
- Connection (you and your partner moving together to the music)
Having focus in these areas you will create enjoyable dances with a partner – no matter how vast or limited your repertoire of movements are. We will guide you through your basic steps, but most importantly, give you great, but simple tips how to spice up your dance and level up the quality of dancing very easily.
We rotate dance partners in the workshop. Therefore, you do not need your own partner to register. However, let us know which role (leader/follower) you’d like to take in this workshop. It is not fixed to a gender, so both roles are open for any gender. The main language in this workshop is English, but we do speak also Finnish/ Portuguese.
After the workshop we open the dance floor to continue dancing and practicing in a more relaxed atmosphere. There’s also a buffet of Brazilian treats & salty snacks to enjoy and keep the energy levels up! A short live music setting up the atmosphere for the Brazilian Festa :)
It is more than a workshop – it is a cultural event, where you meet like-minded friends, enjoy Brazilian sunshine through the rhythms of the music and dive into the culture and movement of Forró while having fun. WARNING: Forró is contagious and addictive, causing cramps in your smiling muscles :)
