Join us on Thursday, October 24 for a performance by gayageum master and composer Hwayoung Shon in Cantor Arts Center’s main lobby. The acoustics of gayageum, a 12-string zither invented in the 6th century, will resonate the lobby’s cavernous interior with Shon performing songs that embody rebirth, ritual, and traversing time. This series is programmed in conjunction with Spirit House, an exhibition featuring contemporary artists of Asian descent who challenge the boundary between life and death, and asks the question: what does it mean to speak to ghosts, inhabit haunted spaces, be reincarnated, or enter different dimensions? Whether you’re a fan of live music, a lover of art, or simply looking for a unique night out, Forms & Frequencies promises an unforgettable experience that resonates with all your senses.
