Friends, of you’ve been following my posts about my new class, Form and Freedom, you may have been wondering what is so different about it, given that I’ve been running classes for four years now. In a nutshell, Form & Freedom on 20th May is a full day workshop at my Hoylake studio - looking closely at wildflowers and interpreting them in paper, your own way. I'll have fresh flowers on the table, a library of references, every tool and paper you could need, and I'll be with you the whole day. There are no rigid templates, no wrong answers - just your hands, the flowers, and enough time to actually get lost in it.
Let me tell you - I’ve been thinking about what I want people to feel at the end of Form & Freedom. Not what they'll make - though they will make something, and I think they'll surprise themselves. But how they'll feel at 4pm, packing up their things, looking at what's on the table in front of them.
Happy. A bit proud. Like they've spent a day doing something that was entirely for them. So many people who come to my workshops tell me it's their therapy - in the sense that a few hours of making something with their hands, away from everything else, does something good for them. I've felt that myself since I was a teenager. It's part of why I do what I do.
If you’re thinking about it - I'd love to spend the day with you. There are a few spaces left, book on line at paperbydragonfly.com. A delicious lunch will be served, and all you’ll have to think about all day is flowers….
