Fores(t)empest is inspired by Argentinian folktale, by the book THE DEEP by Rivers Salomon and Laurie Anderson's poetry.
Using 2 experienced, strong Swedish/British character actors,
2 argentinian/ italian dansers to create an original, powerful and beautiful story of movements, magic and adventure. The theatre form also uses dialogue but focuses on story-telling, object theatre and elements of puppetry and mask.

ABOUT THE PLAY Fores(t)empest
Did you know that 40 million years ago under the sea there was a forest of birch trees?
Follow the tale of Miranda, herself trapped on a remote, magical island, with an overbearing father Prospero and a lump of precious amber, as she deliberates between 2 princes – one of them Prince Caliban. Follow Miranda below the waves where she meets an alter ego Anahi, trapped inside a tree...
Discover a tale of the merpeople under the sea and a power struggle between nature and artifice, where only re-awakened memories and the discovery of a shared language will perhaps prove the way forward.
Fores(t)empest carries the audience on a dramatic thematic journey between land and sea, using Shakespearean text, Latin American traditional fairy tale and modern Detroit's legends blended with puppetry, object theater, physical theatre, sound and movement, to create a folk tale of our time.
