About the walk: A Forest Therapy Walk (also referred to as Forest Bathing) is a guided, easy paced, mindful walk, that invites participants to explore the forest through their senses. Forest Therapy walks offer an opportunity for moments of reprieve, introspection or to simply experience the benefits of engaging in the outdoor world.
What to expect:
- (90-120) minute session.
- Walking for brief periods on uneven terrains approximately 1- 2 miles round trip.
- Stools are provided for participants to carry and use for stationary moments.
- Invitations to explore natural surroundings through sensory awareness & immersion.
- Closing reflection while sharing tea.
About the guide: Janiece Sanderson is a certified Nurse Coach, Forest Therapy Guide, yoga instructor, and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) yoga instructor, and has been a regisered nurse for 15 years. She is focused on assisting individuals with supplemental paths to health that consider the person’s entire wellbeing.
Date: Saturday, March 15th
Time: Please show up no later than 10:15 AM ET. The gate will open at 9:45 am ET for this private event and the group will start the walk promptly at 10:30 am. The gate will be closed at 10:15 am, so please make sure to arrive early!
Bring: Closed toe shoes, plenty of water, unscented bug spray, the ability to walk independently on uneven terrain approximately 1-2 miles, sunscreen/Sun protective clothing, comfortable attire for outdoor activity in a forested area.
Price: To register, pay what you can donation goes directly to Lula Lake Land Trust's conservation and trail building efforts.
Limit: 12 people.
Important Details:
-This is private property and we have permission to hike on this day only. All participants must leave the property at the end of the walk.
-If you are allergic to bee stings or anything else in nature, please bring your own EpiPen as we do not have one on site.
