This Forest School block of sessions is geared towards upper primary-aged and lower secondary kids (P6/7 and S1/2).
These super-fun individual nature adventure sessions are for older kids to gain the sense of freedom that many don’t get to enjoy these days! Get them off their screens to choose their own adventures and enjoy an exciting mixture of activities such as shelter building, safe tool-work and fire building, campfire cooking, rope swings, hammock time, flora and fauna exploration, nature art and crafts, a little bit of mindfulness, forest adventures, team challenges and opportunities to learn some survival tips.
This block (or sessions within the block) will allow your child to undertake self-directed activities and develop new skills tailored to their interests if they wish. If they want to explore the woods and create their own fun then that is fine too…
Go to www.woodlandwakeup.org for more information about our sessions or find Woodland Wakeup on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook to see pictures of sessions or read testimonials.

Parents have observed improvements in the mental, emotional and physical health of their children within a matter of weeks of coming to our sessions.
The skills, interests and positive traits that children can develop through our nature adventure sessions could last them a lifetime.
Regular outdoor play, learning and spending time in the natural world has many other vast benefits for children, including:
• increasing physical, emotional and psychological resilience
• improving general physical health, strength, agility, fine/gross motor skills and spatial/sensory awareness
• promoting better overall mental health, quality of life, self esteem, confidence, sense of self, independence, happiness and general wellbeing
• improving attention, focus and self-discipline
• increasing sense of place, connection to nature, awareness and appreciation of the natural world and curiosity about its flora and fauna
• enhancing cognitive functioning, creativity and problem solving capabilities
• developing cooperation, teamwork, communication and conflict resolution skills
• improving ability to independently calculate risk and gauge own limitations
• reducing stress, anxiety and aggression
