Forest School for Grown Ups: Fantastic Fungi and Lichen
There's just something about fungi that fascinates us all! Whether you’re curious about mushrooms, captivated by lichens, or just love learning outdoors, this outing will help you get to know the often unexplored world beneath our feet (and on our trees, logs, and rocks!)
🍄 What to Expect:
- An Overview – Learn the basics of the fungi life cycle and how these incredible organisms reproduce.
- Intro to ID – Get hands-on tips for identifying common fungi and lichen in our region.
- Field Walk – Head out for a guided walk to practice your new skills.
- Spore Prints – Try your hand at making a spore print to take home.
- Community Connection – Share the experience with fellow folks who love exploring nature.
No prior knowledge is required—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore together.

📍Location: Dorey Park, will share meetup location after registration
🎟️ Tickets: $10-$25, sliding scale. Spots are limited!
🔹 Who Should Come? Anyone curious about mushrooms, fungi, and connecting with the land. This one's for the grown-ups, but folks of any age accompanied by a parent/guardian are welcome.
🔹 What to Bring? Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and a sense of wonder.
🔹 How can I Sign Up for the Whole Series? This is the second in a series of four sessions. If you'd like to sign up for them all, choose the FULL SERIES ticket option at the price that feels right during checkout. You'll be on the list and get details for all four.
