Nature lovers of all ages are invited to Jesse Jones Park for a day of discovery, celebrating one of our most important natural resources - forests! Learn about the importance of our forests and how you can help conserve such a vital, but endangered, ecosystem at our Inaugural Forest Fest. Visitors can enjoy guided hikes in the Pineywoods, wildlife presentations, crafts and educational exhibits. We’ve got forestry equipment for the little (and big) kids to see, too! Take pictures with a giant Smokey the Bear and an Attwater’s Prairie Chicken. Native plants and concessions available by the Jesse Jones Park Volunteers organization.
Trail surfaces vary from grass to pavement. Strollers and wagons encouraged for younger audiences.
SCOUTS - contact [email protected] to schedule a TREE PLANTING opportunity at the festival for your troop.
No reservations required.
Special thanks to the Texas Forest Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service for their support of the event.
