Event Description

Whether in the U.S. or internationally, investigations of construction companies and infrastructure projects are wide ranging and common. Our panel will discuss:

• Factors that make infrastructure conducive to fraud, including accounting gray areas, scope and volume of projects, 3rd party risk (JV Partners and consortiums), and government interaction in high risk countries

• Impact of regulatory oversight including SEC/DOJ (and international equivalent bodies) prompting investigations for accounting and disclosure irregularities, sub-standard performance, bribery and corruption and ESG concerns

• How compliance initiatives can help mitigate risk of these issues, sources available to guide your compliance program and what you can’t leave out of any compliance program

• Monitoring requirements, including under American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and state and local regulations

• Lessons learned – examples of issues encountered around the globe.
