The meetup point is at the Fungi Farm area of Richmond Community Gardens, marked by wooden mushroom sculptures, near the river end of Evelyn Cousins./Join us at the Richmond Community Garden for a fun family event where we’ll learn about new plants! The walk will begin at the Fungi Farm, and we’ll explore one of the nearby red zone areas.
This wholesome introductory workshop offers a deep understanding of plants and how foraging can contribute to a healthier lifestyle while benefiting the planet. It’s a solid introduction suitable for everyone, but even those with prior knowledge will find unique and interesting insights.
Bring your family and friends, and feel free to share this event! Everyone is welcome. A koha of $20 or some vegetables from your garden is appreciated, but if that’s not possible right now, no worries at all.
We encourage everyone to walk, cycle, or bus to the event to reduce our environmental impact. There will be special gifts for those who do! 🌻💚
Keep an eye out for the official date announcement.
Inga from The Foraging and Growing Corner will guide us through the workshop: https://www.facebook.com/foragingcorner/ "Whether you’re a complete beginner or already know a bit about plants, we’ll dive deep into understanding plant life. We’ll explore and identify wild foods and discuss how foraging supports a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle. You’ll also learn about using plants as medicine, building materials, and more. This workshop will show you how small actions can help our planet in powerful ways."
In case of rain, we’ll reschedule to the next available day (please check the announcements).
