About this Event
Join us for a weekend celebrating the rich Victorian heritage of East Belfast through creativity, craft, and culture.
Inspired by the legacy of St Mark’s and the surrounding area — including nearby Craigavon House and Belmont Park — these events blend history, art, and hands-on experiences for all ages.
Explore the beautiful Victorian parklands of Belmont Park on a guided foraging walk led by local naturalist experts. Learn how Victorian residents connected with nature and used local plants for decoration, medicine, and celebration. After the walk, gather at St Mark’s Parish Hall to create your own natural wreath, using foraged materials and traditional techniques.
Meeting point is at Belmont Park, adjacent to Craigavon House
Shared Roots is part of the From Multiculturalism to Interculturalism led by ArtsEkta, Kabosh and Cairde na Cille under the Belfast Local Community Action Plan, supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body.
