Take a Foraging Hike!Participants will embark on a Naturalist-led hike learning about Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park's fantastic variety of wild edibles. We will discuss identification, and traditional uses and preparations for many of the park's native species.
This is an educational hike that will NOT involve the physical ingestion of any plants or fungi.
Fitness Level: Easy/Moderate (paved & unpaved trails)
We will meet at the Starkey Environmental Education Center at 8:30AM.
At least one paying parent/guardian is required for every 2 youth participants. All parents/guardians in attendance must be registered.
Parent/guardian must remain with their child for the entirety of the program.
It is recommended to bring water, bug spray, and sunscreen.
The trails are uneven and would not be suitable for strollers.
Program subject to cancellation due to weather, an email notice will be sent out in the event of a cancellation.
No pets please.
