Art and foraging come together to create the perfect combination, in this full day workshop!This is a day of two halves!…We will start the day with sketchbook and paints in pocket, and head out to explore the wealth of seasonal, forageable hedgerow flora right on the doorstep of St Davids.
Not only will you dive into learning about the plants themselves with one of Really Wild’s foraging guides, but you’ll also get to know them a little more through quick sketches & notes, supported by local watercolour artist Tom Shepherd.
If you’re totally new to watercolour, or sketching outside, don’t worry! Tom will guide you on how to approach quick sketches – it won’t be anywhere near as daunting as it sounds! This session is all about learning, exploring and capturing whatever grabs you: colour, texture, smells, sights, or even sounds!
After a lunch break we will return to the comfort of The Really Wild Restaurant space and spend the afternoon creating wonderful little paintings and studies inspired by what we’ve gathered and observed. You’ll learn simple, easy-to-apply watercolour techniques to create fantastic results, while developing a more instinctive and personal response to what you’ve seen, whatever your current experience level.
If you are new to painting or watercolour, this is a perfect introduction. If you have any experience already, this is a fresh, unique way to explore Pembrokeshire beautiful nature, get inspired and hopefully pick up a few extra tips and tricks a long the way.

We are running this workshop on two separate dates (see options below).
* The workshop will run from 10am to approx. 4.30pm
* All materials included (though you’re welcome to bring your own — suggested materials can be found on the link)
* Minimum age: 15 yrs
* In order to cover our costs we need to sell a minimum of 3 places per workshop. Should we not reach our minimum numbers we will unfortunately have to cancel the event. Tom is an experienced, and much sought after tutor, who demonstrates and teaches across the UK, abroad as well as online. He finds real joy in helping others on their own artistic journey through his School of Watercolour, and his expressive and vibrant wildlife paintings have become his signature style
