The inaugural "For the Good of the Public" Summit is a two-day event for those who believe spiritual formation is central to civic renewal.
About this Event
Too often when Christians gather for an event concerning politics, the general public assumes it’s about them, but rarely thinks it’s for them. Our Summit will send a clear message: Christians will no longer be mindlessly drafted into a political sectarianism that rewards contempt, fear, and calloused anger. Instead, we will gather with joyful confidence in what we have to offer in loving service to our neighbors, and we invite the public to the conversation.
Join 200+ faith leaders, community and civic leaders, public servants, and prominent speakers in the Nation's Capital for two days of timely conversations. "For the Good of the Public" offers an annual opportunity to hear from leading voices on issues of public importance, and to consider the resources Christianity has to offer for the public good.
Through keynote talks, panels, and exclusive interviews, the inaugural Summit will cover topics like democracy and pluralism, higher education, ending child hunger, and public service as a vocation.
Speakers include Eugene Cho, President/CEO of Bread for the World; Paul Monteiro, Maryland's Secretary of Service & Innovation; Michael Sacasas, Associate Director of the Christian Study Center of Gainsville, Florida and author of the Convivial Society; and CJ Rhodes, pastor at Mt. Helm Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi.
Stay tuned for more speakers announced soon! Follow us on Instagram and Twitter (@CCPublicLife) for the latest updates.

The Summit ticket includes access to two days of talks, an evening event on Monday, and a closing reception. The Summit begins at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 6, and will conclude at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 7 with a reception.

Early bird registration runs through Monday, September 4.
