About this Event
For the Culture is a 60-minute Mat Pilates experience led by Boston-based instructors Chekara Jean (The Sculpt Co.) and Rachel Primé (Relevé with Rachel) in celebration of Black History Month. This dynamic class centers Black joy, artistry, and cultural expression through movement. Expect a strength-based Pilates flow supported by a curated playlist featuring Black artists across eras and genres — designed to leave you feeling grounded, strong, and connected.
What makes this class truly special is its purpose: it's not just about fitness, it's about representation and giving back to the community. As two Black instructors in the Boston area, Chekara and Rachel are committed to creating inclusive spaces where wellness is accessible and joyful for everybody.
All levels are welcome. No prior Pilates experience required.
Following class, guests are invited to continue the celebration in the experiential cafe space with a curated lineup of local, Black owned vendors. This post-class experience is an extension of For the Culture, centered on community, connection, and supporting local Black entrepreneurs.
Featured vendors include:
- Shea Butter Smoothies
- O'vaeh's Creations
- Monae's Munchies
Stay, connect, refuel, and support, because wellness doesn't end when class does.
