About this Event

For the Culture is a Black History Month event series created by students and performers from Station Theater, celebrating Black-led comedy and creative expression. The series takes place on Saturday, February 28 at Station Theater, located in Houston’s 5th Ward Cultural Arts District, a historic center for Black music, art, and storytelling that continues to shape the city’s creative voice.

DIVERSITY IMPROV JAM
3:00 - 5:00 PM | FREE

This special improv jam centers Black students, performers, and alumni in a supportive space to play, practice, and connect. Open to all experience levels, the jam is about showing up, trusting your voice, and creating together.
What is an Improv Jam?
An improv jam is an open practice session - a chance to get on your feet, play with other performers, and create improvised scenes together in a supportive, low-pressure space. Everyone is welcome, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.

Come play, connect, and be part of a day where Black artists are doing what they do. Live and together.
