About this Event
Bring the whole family to this FREE, kid-friendly event featuring ongoing educational booths and guided bird hikes along San Emigdio Canyon Trail. Choose from our morning hike (10:30am - 12:30 pm) or afternoon hike (1:30pm - 3:30pm). Event will take place at The Crossing Campground (near the main restrooms). No reservations required.

Guided Birding Hike | 10:30 am - 12:30 pm & 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Borrow a pair of binoculars and look for birds with us as we hike San Emigdio Canyon Trail. Route is approximately 2 miles with some uphill sections (not stroller-friendly). Space is limited (first-come, first-served). Meet in the booth area for check in.

About Us
Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
TWC is a private, non-profit organization that operates more than 25 preserves along the west coast. Our mission is "To preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature."
