Tromsø Kulturhus invites you to the Norwegian premiere of For Amal – the first play in Europe to directly address the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
We are taken on a captivating journey through Marius von der Fehr’s epic and hypnotic text, based on Nada Chouaib’s personal story and her internationally acclaimed reinterpretation of oriental dance. The play launches the theatre as an important place for healing, the search for meaning and hope, in the midst of the ongoing genocide.
With For Amal, Marius von der Fehr follows up on the legendary Ways of Seeing, for which he was one of the two main creators. The play premiered in Geneva, the home of international law, in August 2024, and has since toured Spain, where the performing arts company is based.
