Artist Michele Allen and Dr. Gary Caldwell, Senior Lecturer in Applied Marine Biology at Newcastle University, discuss coastal ecologies and the devastating mass die-off of marine species along the North East coast, reflecting on our fragile connection with ocean habitats.
Rob Smith | Wednesday 4 March
Artist Rob Smith, joined by a guest scientist, discusses the histories and futures of deep-sea mining of polymetallic nodules and the recent discovery of ‘dark oxygen’ on the ocean floor, which has called into question how life began on Earth.
