HEY to all you cultural and natural history buffs!
Step back in time for a revealing 12,000-year exploration of Mount Greylock's historic landscape along an easy walking trail. Discover the remarkable story of Ice Age beasts, primeval forests, Native American Nomads and 18th-Century pioneer settlers like farmer Seth Jones. This 1.0-mile walk begins at the Jones Nose parking area and follows primarily mowed pathways through gently sloping meadows. A brief presentation precedes the tour.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Bring water, sunscreen and bug spray.
Inclement weather cancels.
Meet at the Jones Nose Trailhead parking area, 4 miles north of the Visitor Center on Rockwell Road.
