THE FOOL’S MONTHLY PLAYGROUND –SYDNEY
Saturdays | 10am–5pm
A monthly laboratory of play, presence and poetic stupidity for performers, movers, clowns and curious humans who want to stretch their creative muscles and fall over beautifully.
Playground is a long-form, drop-in style training space where we explore the art of clowning as a way of being human: ridiculous, tender, impulsive, and wildly alive. Each session blends physical play, improvisation, simple performance tasks and audience awareness, with time to experiment, fail gloriously, and discover what makes you funny, strange and magnetic.
It’s about listening.
It’s about timing.
It’s about letting the audience change you.
It’s about finding the poetry in your awkwardness.
Expect:
– Physical warm-ups and playful group games
– Clown and performance experiments
– Solo and ensemble work
– Costume and prop play
– Gentle feedback and collective witnessing
– Space to try ideas without needing to be “good”
Open to:
Performers, theatre-makers, circus artists, dancers, improvisers and anyone drawn to clowning and creative risk. Experienced fools encouraged.
You can come once, or come regularly. Each session stands alone, but over time you’ll build deeper skill, confidence and creative freedom.
