About this Event
Are you interested in reducing fresh food waste in Glenelg? Ever wonder what happens to left over fruit on local trees? Are you a horticulturalist, mad-keen gardener, or just love fruit and keen to share your skills on a possible new project for the region?
Come along to our next food security forum to hear from guest speaker, Courtney Mathew, Co-Founder/Director of Fruit Rescue.
The project volunteers collect fruit from registered gardens and public spaces that would otherwise go to waste, and re-distribute to those who have limited access.
We will then discuss and map current initiatives and shared opportunities to further strengthen equitable and sustainable access to fresh food across the Glenelg Shire.
All interested community members, groups and organisations are welcome to attend.
