About this Event
Welcome to our first Food Power event of 2026, where meaningful social impact meets delicious food! Try the culinary creations of 12 refugee food founders at our Food Power Tasting Showcase hosted by TERN and Mission Kitchen.
Explore the mini market, taste signature dishes from around the world & share your crucial feedback with these brand-new food startups, dreamt up by entrepreneurs around the UK with refugee backgrounds.
Your taste buds and your feedback are instrumental to getting the entrepreneurs’ food startups market-ready.
When: Saturday 23rd May 4pm to 7pm
Where: 1st Floor, The Food Exchange, New Covent Garden Market, London SW8 5EL.(See location on Google Maps - just 5 minutes walk from Nine Elms Station on the Northern Line.)
What you get with your ticket:
Your ticket at the price of £22 gives you:
- 4 tokens for 4 taster portions & 1 drink in the Mini Market (4 tasters = a feast!)
- Spend your tokens on four different tasters, or keep on coming back to your new favourite stall: it’s your choice!
- Speaking from experience: 4 taster portions are enough for a full meal! :)
Please note: We recommend arriving from 4pm-5pm for the most choice - there are limited portions of each dish available, and the most popular dishes may sell out!
Food is best enjoyed together - Bring your friends & family!
Come along, bring your friends & loved ones. Together, try the food, share your feedback and network with the next generation of food entrepreneurs and fellow foodie visitors.

About TERN and the Food Power programme
TERN’s mission is to enable refugees to thrive through the power of their own ideas.
30% of our community would like to open a food business. This is why we created Food Power, an incubation programme for food entrepreneurs from refugee backgrounds, running annually from January to June. Each edition culminates in 2 food showcases - this is the first of the two!
