Abstract:
Autonomous aircraft could transform year-round delivery to remote regions, including northern Canada, where air transport is essential. This talk explores the business case, operations, regulatory considerations, and technical progress behind Ribbit’s optionally piloted aircraft, including collaborations with Transport Canada, NRC, and DND/CAF, as well as remaining challenges and the evolving dual-use policy environment. ✈️
Bio:
Dr. Jeremy Wang is President & COO and co-founder of Ribbit, developing dual-use self-flying aircraft to improve access to transportation in remote regions. With over 10 years in autonomous aviation, he has led projects with defence, research, and transportation partners, including Canada’s first automated gate-to-gate flight in 2023. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Waterloo and Royal Military College of Canada.
