Monterey County’s population is aging rapidly, with more older adults living alone, navigating complex healthcare systems, and managing life on fixed incomes. Join Alliance on Aging for an informative Food for Thought Luncheon focused on understanding the challenges seniors face and the local solutions that help them remain safe, independent, and connected. As the county’s trusted hub for aging services and advocacy since 1970, Alliance on Aging will provide valuable insight into the changing needs of the aging population and how community programs are making a meaningful difference.
Topics will include protecting dignity through advocacy and Ombudsman services, helping seniors navigate Medicare, benefits, and financial challenges, addressing isolation through peer counseling and community programs, and ensuring access to nutrition, connection, and support.
This one-hour presentation is ideal for community members, business leaders, nonprofit professionals, and advocates who want to better understand the landscape and support older adults across Monterey County. Complimentary lunch and light refreshments will be provided.
