Food in fiction operates as symbolic and emotional language that reveals character, storyline and culture. Two local authors will discuss their novels, including their use of food in the fictional narrative.
Christine Ma-Kellams, author of "The Band" will discuss her darkly funny novel about a troubled K-pop idol who disappears after finding himself at the center of controversy. Rosa Kwon Easton, author of "White Mulberry" will discuss the story inspired by her own grandmother's life, about a Korean woman in 1930's Japan, caught between two worlds.
Join us and meet the authors and learn about the food in the fiction.
Copies of the author's books will be for sale at the program. There will be time for Q&A & food samples!
