About this Event

Join us Saturday, April 29th from 9 AM to 4 PM for our annual Garden Fair & Plant Sale (rain date on April 30th). Celebrate spring with our fantastic array of plants, expert gardening advice, dozens of local vendors, and outdoor activities!

  • 9 AM - 11 AM: Members-only hours for our Plant Sale. Vendor Village is open to the public at this time. Become a FONA member for early access to the Plant Sale.
  • 11 AM - 4 PM: Plant Sale public hours open to all.

Event located at the National Arboretum's Visitor Center. Please enter the Arboretum at the New York Avenue Entrance and park at the , , or A free shuttle will transport people between these parking lots and the event. (GPS Address: 3501 New York Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002)

Registration is preferred but not required. Please let us know you're coming!

Dogs are not allowed in the Plant Sale, but are allowed on leash in the Vendor Village. Dogs are not recommended since the event can get very crowded.



PLANT SALE

Plant lists will be available in early April — event registrants will be notified when this list becomes available. Plants are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Become a FONA member to get the first pick of these one-of-a-kind plants! Plan to pay with a credit or debit card for the Plant Sale (no cash sales).



VENDOR VILLAGE

The vendor list will be available in early April — event registrants will be notified when this list becomes available. There will be a variety of local gardening, home goods, lifestyle, food, and beverage vendors.



FAMILY ACTIVITIES

10 AM - 2 PM: Free nature-themed family activities are offered by DC Child Care Connections, the District’s Child Care Resource and Referral program funded through the Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s Division of Early Learning. Activities will take place in the Ellipse Meadow, and will include nature-based crafts, story time, games, and more. Pre-registration requested — register for the Garden Fair to receive a notice when this pre-registration opens.

11:30 AM: The Washington Ballet will offer free children’s storytime and movement activity in the Ellipse Meadow. Pre-registration requested — see Eventbrite tickets to sign up.

Parental or guardian supervision is required during all family activities.



ADULT ACTIVITIES

10:00 AM: Free mat-based pilates class for teens and adults offered by The Washington Ballet in the meadow. Pre-registration requested — see Eventbrite tickets to sign up.

2:00 PM: DIY Terrarium Workshop offered by Cultivate the City in the Visitor Center Auditorium. Pre-registration is required, this event costs $30. Register for the Garden Fair to receive a notice when this pre-registration opens.
