Part 5: 'East Anglia's Witchcraft: Fear, Folklore and the Matthew Hopkins hunt.'
East Anglia's dark history includes a brutal witch-hunting period led by Matthew Hopkins; a history of Viking invasions and the death of King Edmund; significant Black Death mortality and eerie ghost tales and folklore, like that of the Black Dog of East Anglia.
Join local Historian (and witch!) Katie Hardy as she uncovers the macabre history and legends that plague our East Anglian region. Each evening will consist of an informal presentation on a variety of brutal and unsettling topics notable to the local area, with an invitation for attendees to contribute their own questions/knowledge/experiences throughout the evening.
Approx running time: 1 hour 30 mins with a 15 minute interval.
