Let’s craft bold, brilliant Papier Mâché Masks inspired by Folk Tales!
This free "Pay what you feel" workshop will involve creating the base layer of your nature-inspired mask: from butterfly wing cheeks to celestial-inspired headpieces, this is a chance to create a unique, wearable mask inspired by nature and folklore.
Get hands-on with cutting, shaping and sculpting as we build expressive mask bases from paper mâché, to later bring alive with paints, markers and collage.
This free session is the first of two workshops: please note the dates below. If you can only make one, we will do our best to work with you!

24th April – Mask Decoration and Embellishment
As part of Speak Volumes’ Parade, we’ll be diving into the world of Folk Tales — from mischievous forest spirits and cunning tricksters to mythical beasts, long-lost legends and tales born in the River Severn. Who (or what) will you become? A moss-covered woodland guardian? A petal-coated faerie? A summoner of crows and magpies? Or a even a personified interpretation of the Malvern Hills in at dusk?
No experience needed — just a willingness to get a little messy and a lot imaginative.

💡Join the parade! Use decoupage, papier-mache, other texture and shaping techniques to create a nature-inspired parade mask. No experience needed.
After crafting your mask, you’ll be invited to step into character and join the Parade in costume (taking place 30th May), wearing the masterpiece you’ve made together. Shape it. Paint it. Wear it. Become it.
