Forage Around and Find Out: FOFO Friday at Onion Creek

It’s almost Spring in Texas, and we are kicking it off exactly where we belong—out in the field! 🌿

This Friday marks the very first day of the season, and we’re celebrating with Forage Around and Find Out (FOFO Friday).

This is a FREE, family-friendly event designed to get kids and adults alike curious about the world right beneath our feet.Come have a hands-on botanical experience with us as we discover our native spring plants. We’ll be identifying "first foods" for caterpillars, exploring pollination education, and checking in on our favorite edible spring forage.

From dragonflies to wild herbs, we’ll be exploring the native species that make the Texas environment so unique.

While our guided classes and activities run from 3 PM to 4 PM, we encourage you to enjoy the entire Spring Equinox at the park. Onion Creek is a massive 500-acre gem with beautiful trails and picnic areas. Come early, stay late, bring a picnic, and truly welcome the new season.

It’s the perfect excuse to get outside and finally "touch some grass."
