About this Event
🎣 Join us for an unforgettable afternoon at the Fly Fishing Film Festival benefiting Heroes on the Water—hosted by Cpt. Scott Null! 🌊
The Fly Fishing Film Festival is coming to Sam Houston Race Park, featuring a curated lineup of breathtaking films that celebrate wild waters, world-class fisheries, and the incredible people working to protect them.
But this isn’t just a film festival—it’s a community celebration with purpose! Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with local food trucks, exciting raffles, family-friendly activities, and the chance to connect with fellow outdoor and conservation enthusiasts.
Every ticket supports Heroes on the Water, a nonprofit that helps veterans, first responders, and their families find healing and connection through kayak fishing and time spent in nature.
Whether you’re a lifelong angler, new to fly fishing, or just love being part of something meaningful, you’ll feel right at home. Come for the films, stay for the fun, and make a difference while you do it.
Come ready to have fun—rain or shine! Since our event is held indoors, we’ll keep the good times rolling no matter the weather. All registrations are final and non-refundable.

Captain. Scott Null: Captain Scott Null has been fishing the Texas coast for over fifty years and currently guides out of Port O’Connor. He specializes in sight-casting to redfish from his Sabine poling skiff in clear water on grassy flats and back-lakes in the area. Throughout the summer and fall he can also be found on the beachfront chasing tarpon, bull reds, kings and jacks from his Dargel Kat. He's equally comfortable guiding customers using fly or conventional gear and provides customers with high quality gear, including Shimano and Hatch reels paired with Fishing Tackle Unlimited, Temple Fork and Loomis rods. Capt. Scott is an avid conservationist who encourages catch and release to preserve the fishery for future generations while still keeping a couple for a fresh dinner. He's been a member of CCA since its inception and has been involved with the more recently established Flatsworthy organization. Capt. Scott is co-host of the popular Bite Me - A Saltwater Fishing Podcast and has written numerous articles for Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine, Tide Magazine and other prominent publications.
