Cuireann Belfast TradFest ‘Flutopia’ i láthair i gcomhar le Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair áit ina mbeidh muid ag cuimhneamh ar an sár-cheoltóir agus duine de bhunaitheoirí Altan, Frankie Kennedy, fear a chuaigh go mór i bhfeidhm ar sheinnteoirí flúit na tíre seo. Beidh muid ag ceiliúradh an cheangal laidir atá idir Bhéal Feirste agus Gaeltacht Thír Chonaill fríd an teanga an chultúr agus an cheol.
Tá Béal Feirste comhchiallach le fuaim an fhliúit. Is sainmharcanna stíl Bhéal Feirste iad fuinneamh agus cruthaitheacht. Bíonn cuisle leanúnach agus hiopnóiseach ag ceol na cathrach seo a tharraingíonn an éisteoir isteach i stát atá cosúil le támhnéal. Beidh cuid de na seinnteoirí feadóg traidisiúnta is fearr ar domhan le feiceáil sa cheolchoirm seo agus is cinnte go mbeidh a seónna iontach, idir léirithe aonair agus léirithe comhoibritheacha.
Belfast TradFest presents ‘Flutopia’ in association with Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair where on the 30th anniversary we remember one of the founders of Altan, the late Frankie Kennedy, who inspired young musicians and in particular flute players all over the world. We will be celebrating the strong connection between Belfast and Gaoth Dobhair through our language, our culture and our music.
Belfast is synonymous with the sound of the flute. Energy and creativity are very much the hallmarks of the Belfast style. The music of this city invariably has a persistent and hypnotic pulse which draws the listener into a trance-like state. This concert features some of the world’s best traditional flute and whistle players and it promises to be a spectacle of brilliant solo and collaborative performances.
