An Crann Óg
Grúpa de cheoltóirí óga ó iarthuaisceart Dhún na nGall atá lonnaithe sa Chrannóg, i nGaoth Dobhair agus atá ag freastal ar Scoil Cheoil na Crannóige.
Bíonn siad ag seinim ceol traidisiúnta agus ag ceol amhráin as Gaeilge.
Ó cuireadh tús leis an ghrúpa “An Crann Óg” i 2008, d’éirigh go sármhaith leis na daoine óga a fuair a dtaithí sa ghrúpa seo, le cuid acu ag plé leis an cheol go lánaimseartha agus ag taisteal ar fud an domhain. Seo anois an cúigiú ghlúin den Crann Óg!
Altan is one of the most iconic bands in Irish music. The band delivers on their reputation as among Ireland’s most important cultural ambassadors with their new release DONEGAL. No Irish traditional band in the last thirty years has had a wider impact on audiences throughout the world than Altan. Formed in County Donegal in 1987 by lead vocalist Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and her late husband Frankie Kennedy, the group’s music is influenced by traditional Irish language songs and tunes from Donegal. Over the course of their career, Altan has sold over a million records.

An Crann Óg -
Is a group of young musicians from the Donegal Gaeltacht that attend music classes in Scoil Cheoil na Crannóige. They play traditional music and sing songs in the Irish language all of which they learnt from local musicians. An Crann Óg have produced some of the most sought after Irish musicians and gave all young musicians who attend their classes a love of language and music since its inception in 2008. This is now the 5th generation of young musicians to come through An Crann Óg.
