On this one day silver jewellery workshop you will learn the technique of flush setting round faceted stones into sterling silver to create beautiful pendants, rings or earrings.By the end of the session you will be able to:
* Accurately measure metal and stones.
* Lay and mark out stone positioning on metal with enough space to set them effectively.
* Identify burrs and their uses.
* Choose appropriate burrs for your stone sizes.
* Use a pendant motor to drill through metal to create a seat for your stones.
* Use a needle burnisher to set your stones.
* File, sand and polish your piece.
NB: Some of the time spent may be practicing the technique in copper. Learners can expect to complete between 1 and 3 finished pieces depending on skill level.

Level: Beginners welcome – Good hand dexterity and eyesight essential. You will need to bring an eye glass or optivisors as we will be working on a very small scale (2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm stones).
Materials: Silver and stones are in addition to your course fees and will be between £10 and £50 depending on your designs and stones you choose.
