Join us every Tuesday for FlowShop!
This Tuesday, July 9th we'll be featuring a workshop with Bay Area artist, Dresden Blue!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dresden Blue is an artist based out of the Vulcan in Oakland CA. Since 2009, she fuses martial arts, dance, and circus into a unique and distinctive style with a wide variety of props, bringing in elements as varied as tai chi, tango, and modern dance.
Dresden's current work focuses on integrating fire dancing with partner dance. They have been teaching and performing with partner Sterling since 2019, with a focus on partner rope dart, partner double staff, and partner dragon staff.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Teaching: Double Staff Toroidal T-Tech Tetris
This class starts with a simple two-dimensional paradigm with “T” and “X” based patterns that can be formed in same, split, and quarter time. These patterns can then be tucked into the body to form a wide variety of orthogonal body tracers. These patterns will then be extended into the third dimension.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What about the Open Jam?

The park has plenty of space for all of us to flow! Our open jam will be going on as usual. Please be respectful to the class taking place.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FlowShop is a weekly gathering for flow artists, jugglers, dancers, and other movement artists to come together for practice and play. Our events are open to people of all backgrounds, skills, and levels of experience.
We're in OUTDOOR flow mode! Find us at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill! We'll be located on the grassy hill near the Volunteer Park Conservatory.

**What should I expect at FlowShop?
Friendly faces and welcoming spaces. Open jams are an unstructured time to come together and practice flow arts while building connections and community. Many love teaching! All props, skill levels and movement modalities are encouraged and welcome!
Don't have a prop of your own? We've always got extra to share.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
**How To Find Us at Volunteer Park: Use GPS to navigate to the Volunteer Park Conservatory. It's a white building with lots of windows. When the conservatory is at your back, you'll see us on the grassy hill below.
**Accessibility: There are accessible parking spaces in the park, and there are no stairs or curbs required to access the area where we meet. If there's anything we can do to support your accessibility needs, please send us a message!
** Parking: There is generally parking available in the park near the location where we meet. If the parking is full, street parking is available outside the park.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Donations keep us spinning! We believe in creating spaces that are financially accessible and also believe that artists deserve to be paid! Workshops are on a sliding scale/pay-what-you-can basis.
Suggested Workshop Donation: $10-35
