Aleshia Ng’s beautiful exhibition ‘The Way of the Flower’ is showing at the Museum Friday 5 December 2025 – Sunday 8 March 2026. The exhibition presents a contemplative series of works on paper by this Australian artist, drawn from her Chinese heritage and inspired by traditional Chinese iconography and symbolism. Executed in a restrained palette of black and white or blue and white, the works reference two of China’s most enduring artistic traditions: ink painting (水墨画 shuĭmòhuà) and blue-and-white porcelain (青花瓷 qīnghuācí).
In this workshop participants will firstly visit ‘The Way of The Flower’ with Aleshia and then create a unique artwork on a fan that they can take home and treasure. This is a very special opportunity for participants to work with an experienced artist and create something that is both beautiful and functional. As well, the workshop is a fascinating introduction to Chinese culture, creativity and the language of flowers.
