This course is term time only. Tuesday 6pm - 9pm (15 weeks)
This course is the perfect starting point if you’ve ever dreamed of working with flowers or simply want to explore a creative new skill. You’ll learn the essentials of floristry, from industry basics to hands-on techniques, while creating your own unique floral designs. Whether you’re looking to pursue floristry further or just want to enjoy the beauty of working with flowers, this course offers a wonderful mix of learning, creativity, and inspiration.
Floristry Award - Level 1
The course is made up of two units:
- Safe and effective working practices in land-based industries
- Assemble basic floral designs
Entry Requirements
- There are no formal entry requirements to take part in this course.
How will I be assessed?
- You will complete practical assessments during this course alongside portfolio tasks and a Health and Safety exam.
Where will this course take me?
This qualification aims to enable learners to develop basic skills in flower arranging craft. It will provide learners with underpinning knowledge of the craft process and basis for progression into further study in floristry.
On the course, the learners will learn how to use materials, tools and equipment correctly and safely while gradually developing a portfolio of their flower arranging designs.

How much will it cost?
Full funding is available subject to meeting the eligibility criteria:
- Living in the UK
- Employed and earning less than £25,750 OR
- Unemployed
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, there is a course fee of £495*.
This fee will cover all costs associated for the duration of the course, including flowers and materials. You are required to provide your own apron & table covering.
